What Is Pathology Diagnosis?

Pathology is focusing on the nature, cause, origin, and development of diseases. It studies and diagnoses diseases by examing the tissues, shedding cells, bodily fluids, and autopsies. Daan Gene's liquid-based cytology (LBC) preparation systems focus on the examinations of bodily fluids and tissues at the cellular level to screen and diagnose disease and help treatment decision-making. LBC requires sophisticated processing to create slides from liquid specimens. Compared with conventional techniques,  using liquid based cytology instrument has a significantly lower unsatisfactory rate and a higher disease detection rate of squamous epithelial lesions. LBC can be a better method of cytological follow-up for post-treated patients with cervical cancer.

Why Do I Need A Pathology Test?

A pathology test is a diagnostic solution, and clinicians will use pathology laboratory machines to examine the human tissular or cellular samples obtained by biopsy. Pathology lab machine plays a significant part in pathology tests, which are essential in evaluating a patient's condition and the gold standard for clinical practitioners in disease diagnosis and treatment management.

Using pathology lab equipment can advance the pathology test effort. Cytology and histology are different branches of pathology. Cytology tests use small amounts of body tissue or fluid to examine specific types of cells, which are widely applied in diagnosing and preventing infectious diseases, allergies, cancer, chronic illnesses, and various medical conditions, helping to predict the incident and future risk of diseases.

What Is Liquid-Based Cytology Technique?

Liquid-based cytology (LBC) is an improved cytological examination that performs outstandingly in screening cervical cancer. Compared with conventional pap smear tests, LBC technology can separate the targeted sample from other possibly obscuring material and generate a suspension of cells from a biopsy sample to produce a thin cell layer on a slide for microscopic investigation which provides optimal viewing of cellular features.

What Are The Advantage Of Liquid Based Cyotology?

Compare with traditional cytology, LBC has greatly improve sample quality, reproducibility, and specificity, also increase flexibility to perform molecular test. LBC provide a thiner layer on the slide, researcher can have a better viewing of the cellular features that assure the diagnostic accuracy. Liquid-based cytology (LBC) will reduce the false-negative results, more importantly it has less unsatisfactory smears, more accurate interpretation, more efficient in sample preparation, less obscuring materials such as mucous, blood, inflammatory cells in smears.

Why Need Liquid-Based Cytology Test To be Done?

The liquid-based cytological test (LBC) is widely used to assess cellular pathology and disease screening. Cervical screening is proven to reduce the risk of cervical cancer. Using a traditional Pap smear for cervical screening, the slide will present many unrelated tissues that will cause false-negative and affect the screening result. Liquid-based cytology in cervical screening uses a small brush to collect cervical cells, then put them into a vial with cell preservation solution, and use the filter to separate other tissue to get pure cervical cells. This method can remove the interference factors in the sample, avoid excessive overlap of cells, and make abnormal cells easily identified.
